Eight new products from Odisha get GI tag

As many as eight new products from Odisha have got the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, informed the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) department of the state government.

Bhubaneswar: As many as eight new products from Odisha have got the Geographical Indication (GI) tag, informed the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME) department of the state government.

The department in its X handle (formerly known as Twitter), informed that the eight products of the State which have got the GI tag include Odisha Khjuri Guda (Gajapati date palm jiggery), Dhenkanal Magji, Mayurbhanj Kai Chutney and Nayagarh Kanteimundi Brinjal.

Similarly, the Dungaria Kondh Embroidered Shawl, Kendrapara Rasabali, Koraput Kalajeera Rice and Painting of Lanjia Saura are the other products which have been given the GI tag by the Geographical Indication Registry under the Department of Industry Promotion and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
