In a fresh case of matrimonial fraud in Bhubaneswar people have been siphoned off lakhs of rupees by a ninth fail.

Bhubaneswar: In a fresh case of matrimonial fraud in Bhubaneswar people have been siphoned off lakhs of rupees by a ninth fail. He had allegedly created a fake matrimonial site and was asking people for money.

Reports say that the man identified as Nursingha Biswal, had created a number of fake profiles on the matrimonial site and was asking for fees. Further to the extent that he had even added the profile of his wife Deepa Pradhan on the site.

After a proper match was found, a person could even chat with the woman in the id by exchanging numbers on WhatsApp. The victim would then be told that the family members of the girl are unwell and would be urged to give money.

The victim had doubts relating to the genuineness of the woman after being siphoned off Rs.3.18 lakh. He then complained to the cyber police station.

After an initial preliminary investigation the man has been arrested by the police. The police has seized Rs. 1.61 lakh in cash, five ATM cards and mobiles from his possession. Further the police is investigating whether more frauds have been committed in his name or not. Detailed reports awaited in this matter.
