UFO spotted in Manipur ? Imphal airport shut for hours, flights delayed
Flight operations at Imphal airport were temporarily suspended after unidentified flying object was spotted over the airport
New-Delhi: The Manipur’s Imphal airport was shut for hours and was kept on alert after an unidentified flying object (UFO) was spotted near the capital Imphal city airport’s runway on Sunday.
According to sources, a very small drone was spotted by security personnel at Imphal Airport on Sunday at 3 pm. Later, an alert was issued to other agencies at the airport and operations were postponed till security clearance. The flight operations then resumed at 5.30 pm, reported ANI citing sources.
While three flights scheduled to depart from Imphal to Agartala, Guwahati and Kolkata remain suspended till 6 pm. Another flight from Delhi to Imphal was diverted to Kolkata while a flight from Guwahati to Imphal at 3.50 pm, which was also suspended later departed at 6.50 pm.
Security officials were on alert after the incident at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal.
Later, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Indian Air Force have launched a joint probe to find out more about the incident.
