Revanth Reddy submits his resignation from the post of Member of Parliament

He was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Telangana on Thursday.

New Delhi: Revanth Reddy, the newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Telangana, submitted his resignation as Member of Parliament (MP) from the Malkajgiri constituency on Friday, December 8, 2023. He submitted the resignation letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

Reddy, who led the Congress party to victory in the recent Telangana assembly elections, was sworn in as the Chief Minister on Thursday.

As per the law, a person cannot hold both the Chief Minister and MP positions simultaneously. Therefore, his resignation was mandatory to continue his role as the Chief Minister.
