Ahmedabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will appear in an Ahmedabad metro court today in connection with defamation against him.
The Congress leader tweeted in this connection saying, “Satyameva Jayate”.
I'm in Ahmedabad today, to appear in another case filed against me by my political opponents in the RSS/ BJP.
I thank them for providing me these platforms & opportunities to take my ideological battle against them to the public.

The defamation suit was filed by the Chairman of Ahmedabad District Cooperative- ADC Bank- Ajay Patel against Gandhi last year for his remark, statements and social media posts about the alleged large-scale deposit of scrapped Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 notes in the ADC Bank.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has also been made accused in this case.
Gandhi and Surjewala claimed that the Ahmedabad District Cooperative Bank was involved in a “scam” to swap Rs 745.59 crore in swapped notes with valid currency within five days of demonetisation announcement on November 8, 2016.
Gandhi and Surjewala’s allegations were reportedly based on the reply given by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development to an RTI query of a Mumbai-based activist.
Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah is one of the directors of the ADC Bank.
