‘King of Good Times’ Mallya offers to repay loan, says ‘Please take it’
Fugitive Vijay Mallya offers to repay principal amount
New Delhi: Fugitive liquid baron and industrialist Vijay Mallya on Wednesday offered to pay the complete principal amount of the loan that he owes to various banks.
This was his tweet:
Airlines struggling financially partly becoz of high ATF prices. Kingfisher was a fab airline that faced the highest ever crude prices of $ 140/barrel. Losses mounted and that’s where Banks money went.I have offered to repay 100 % of the Principal amount to them. Please take it.

Mallya is being investigated for fraud and money laundering. Enforcement Directorate of India has been after Mallya since 2016.
Mallya got an extradition warrant executed by the Metropolitan Police of London earlier last year.
The liquor baron owes over Rs 9,000 crore to various Indian banks. He has been living in a self-imposed exile in Britain since March 2016, after secretly escaping from India.
His tweet surged storm in Indian media circle. He is facing an extradition verdict in a UK court in 5 days. His untimely tweet raises eyebrows.
