India sees slight dip in Covid-19 infections, 29 deaths

India on Sunday has reported 10,112 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, with this, the number of active cases in the country is 67,806.

New Delhi: India on Sunday sees a slight drop in Covid-19 infections with 10,112 cases in the last 24 hours, with this, the number of active cases in the country is 67,806, according to the Union health ministry data updated.

The 24-hour Covid tally has dipped slightly from yesterday’s numbers. India yesterday registered 12,193 fresh Covid-19 cases.

The health ministry data shows that in the last 24 hours, 9,833 persons have been recovered, with that total number of recoveries stands at 4,42,92,854.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 7.03 per cent and the weekly positivity rate stands at 5.43 per cent.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.66 per cent, the ministry said.

India has also recorded 29 fresh Covid deaths, including seven reconciled by Kerala, in the last 24 hours after which the toll has climbed to 5,31,329.

According to the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
