New Delhi: In the latest update on Covid-19 in India, the country reported six Covid deaths and 692 new cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of active cases in India has risen to 4,097, data from Union Health Ministry confirmed.
Reliable sources report that of the six deaths, two were reported from Maharashtra, and one each from Delhi, Karnataka, Kerala, and West Bengal.
On December 27, India’s capital Delhi reported its first case of Covid-19 variant JN.1. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj confirmed the same in an official statement.
As of Wednesday, the total number of JN.1 cases recorded in India currently stands at 109.
Overall, the total number of Covid positive cases in India since January 2020 has reached 4,50,10,944.
The Delhi AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) has released guidelines for Covid positive cases that will be detected in the country. Reportedly, the Director of Delhi AIIMS held a meeting with all HODs on Covid-19 preparedness at hospitals.
