New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 hit the Bay of Bengal during the late night hours on Monday. As per reports from the National Centre of Seismology, the quake struck at around 01:30 AM (IST), 70 kilometers below the earth surface.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at latitude 9.75 degrees North and longitude 84.12 degrees East.
No loss of life or property has been reported yet. Further details awaited.
