A video of 16 minor boys of a government residential hostel drinking alcohol on New Year eve is going viral over the internet.
Anakapalle: A video of 16 boys staying in class 6, 7 and 10 at a government residential hostel drinking alcohol on New Year eve is going viral over the internet, leaving everyone in shock. The incident has come to the fore from the Chodavaram mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalle district.
The footage revealed beer bottles arranged in front of the minor students, with several empty bottles scattered around the hostel room.
According to reports, apart from the schoolboys, two external individuals were also present at the scene. All of them were seen enjoying beer and partaking in a Biryani feast at an under-construction apartment building situated close to the boys’ hostel.
Reportedly, two workers of the school got to know about the boys drinking alcohol. They immediately went there to know if what they heard was true or not. The moment they reached the spot, they discovered the boys to be drunk. One of the minors allegedly cautioned the driver and mechanic against recording them on their mobile phones and reportedly assaulted them.
Following the incident, an internal inquiry has been initiated, and authorities have stated that it is a confidential issue as the boys involved are minors.
