Chased by police, driver guides car 2 km in reverse in Ghaziabad, Watch
Ghaziabad: A driver drove his car in reverse gear for nearly two kilometres on the bustling elevated highway in Ghaziabad after being changed by police. The video of the incident is going viral over the internet currently.
In the clip, a police vehicle is seen being engaged in a high-speed pursuit of the i20 car, which inexplicably moves in reverse along the elevated road. Reportedly, the incident took place on Wednesday night when police officials deployed on the highway tried to stop the i20 car, which was driving recklessly.
When the police asked the driver to stop, the car drove backwards, and the police chased it for almost two kilometres. As the road had a busy traffic, in order to prevent possibility of accident, the police eventually slowed down their vehicle. Taking advantage of the situation, the car’s driver escaped by driving away.
Following the incident, the police personnel have intensified efforts to identify the culprit through CCTV footage and apprehend them. The cops have also launched a detailed investigation into the matter in which the cops chased the i20 car in the opposite direction. The case has now been handed over to ACP Indirapuram, claims reports.
Over such incidents like drink and drive, wrong-way driving and many other, the road accidents rates has been growing in the areas.
