6-month-old baby girl killed, mother and 2 DRG jawans injured in encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh

New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a 6-month-old baby girl was killed, while her mother and 2 District Reserve Guard jawans got injured in encounter with Naxals in Chhattisgarh on Monday. The incident took place in the Muttamandi area in Bijapur area.

As per reports, the exchange of fire took place between the security personnel and the ultras at about 5 pm on Monday in the forest near Mutvandi village. A six month old infant was killed in this attack while her mother sustained bullet injury. Besides, 2 DRG jawans also got injured in this gunfight. The EoF took place when a DRG team was out on an anti Naxal operation.

All the injured persons have been admitted to hospital. As per reports, a top Mao cadre has sustained critical injury during this gunfight. He is said to be the Bhairamgarh area committee secretary Chandranna.
