11 Patients Die As Oxygen Pressure Drops In Govt Hospital in Andhra Pradesh

Tirupati: At least 11 patients who were undergoing treatment died due to low pressure in medical oxygen supply at Sri Venkateswara Ramnarayan Ruia government hospital of Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati on Monday.

The incident took place at 8.30 pm due to low pressure in medical oxygen supply. Several Covid-19 patients were on ventilators. Pressure was reduced for hardly five minutes. The oxygen supply was restored within five minutes and everything was back to normal. Because of this, we could prevent more casualties, informed Chittoor District Collector M Hari Narayanan.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed grief over the incident at the hospital. He has ordered a probe and sought a detailed report.

He has also directed the officers to take immediate action.
