Mumbai: Maharastra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has set a new record and selected as many as 115 super specialist doctors in a few hours.
MPSC, has selected 115 doctors from super-specialty areas such as cardiology, heart surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery and others in a special recruitment drive.
It is noteworthy that, medical education is dependent on the number of teachers in a department and adequate number of teachers are essential for smooth functioning of the same.
Medical colleges are the only available source of medical help in many districts of rural Maharashtra.
In a recent advertisement, the MPSC advertised for doctors in highly specialized posts of professor, associate professor and assistant professors were interviewed by the commission.
These posts were vacant for many years have been filled by the commission on priority basis and in record period of time.
MPSC made a change in the pattern, and recruited these super-specialists in a matter of a few hours, setting a record of sorts.
