Mumbai: Ranveer Singh has started to hit the nets and has begun his preparations to get in the role of legendary Kapil Dev for upcoming movie ’83. And so have others cast in the movie.
The movie will showcase Indian cricket’s iconic World Cup victory in 1983 and hence the name- ’83. Director Kabir Khan will present the story of then skipper Kapil Dev (played by Ranveer Singh).
Ranveer is riding high on his back-to-back box office successes with Padmaavat, Simba and recently released Gully Boy. He is currently working to get a hold of batting and bowling techniques. Kapil Dev himself has been training Ranveer to get his action right. Reportedly, some scenes shall be shot at the Mecca of cricket- Lord’s cricket ground in England.
The movie is set to be released in April 2020 and has a stellar cast of Pankaj Tripathy, Vicky Kaushal, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Saqib Saleem, among others.
