Mumbai: After the super-successful ‘Stree’, Rajkummar Rao and Dinesh Vijan are all set to collaborate for a second film. While Rajkummar Rao has been finalised to play the male lead in the film, makers were looking for an actress to star opposite him.
According to a report by Filmfare, Dinesh Vijan has roped Dhadak actor Janhvi Kapoor to play the female lead opposite Rajkummar in the film. Filmfare quoted the source saying, “Janhvi’s performance in Dhadak was quite impressive which is why makers are considering her to play the lead role in the film. Janhvi and Rajkummar’s pairing will be something fresh which audience will look out for.”
On the work front, Rajkummar had a successful year with ‘Stree’ and ‘Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga’ bringing him critical as well as commercial success. The versatile actor has an interesting line-up of films like ‘Mental Hai Kya’ with Kangana Ranaut and ‘Made In China’ alongside Mouni Roy.
On the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for the Gunjan Saxena biopic. She will also play an important role in Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ which also stars Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar.
