Most loved character of CID Dinesh Phadnis passes away due to liver damage

Mumbai: The most loved character of television’s most popular show CID, Dinesh Phadnis known as Fredericks died on Tuesday at the age of 57 at a private hospital in Mumbai.

According to the reports, the star was undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the past couple of days. His health deteriorated over the weekend and he was put on a ventilator on Monday.

Several media reported he died of heart attack, but his co-star Dayanand Shetty later clarified that Phadnis did not have a heart attack, he died due to liver damage.

Dinesh Phadnis is survived by his wife Nayana and a daughter named Tanu.

The actor’s funeral will take place in Mumbai at 10.30 am.

Dinesh played the role of Fredericks on the show and his character was loved by the audience for his comic timing . He also made a cameo on another long-running show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, as his character from CID. The actor was also seen in the films Sarfarosh and Super 30. Dinesh has also written for a Marathi film.
