Me Too Movement: Odisha Singer Sona Mohapatra Accuses Kailash Kher Of Sexual Misconduct

Mumbai: Sona Mohapatra, popularly called the ‘Songbird of Odisha’ is not only a talented singer but one of the most vociferous celebrity on social media. In wake of the ‘Me Too’ campaign that has taken Bollywood by storm after Tanushree Dutta opened up on the sexual harassment she faced a decade ago, Sona has lended her support to all the women who have been coming forward to narrate their stories of sexual abuse and harassement. In a shocking revelation, the singer divulged how Kailash Kher had made inappropriate advances towards her during a meeting.

Recently a fan of Sona, along with two other women, tweeted her terrible experience with singer Kailash Kher. Taking a cue, Sona also tweeted her experience with the singer and how he made inappropriate sexual advances towards her.

She went on to reveal that she had met Kailash Kher to collaborate for a song. However in course of the meeting, Kher kept his hand on her thigh telling her how beautiful she is and how she is lucky to have been found by a singer, not an actor.


Sona revealed this through a series of tweets which prompted another journalist to came forward and open up on how Kailash would put his hand on her thigh and insist that she be around him.

On the other hand, Kailash recently issued an apology and told a news channel that he respects women and would never think of doing something as disrespectful as this. Retorting to this Sona Mohapatra tweeted that it will take him a lifetime to apologise to all the women that he has misbehaved with.


Despite being trolled by many, the singer refused to budge down and gave a befitting answer to her detractors.
