Kiran Rao tries ‘fire paan’ after screening of ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ watch her epic reaction
In a recent incident, Bollywood Director Kiran Rao had a close encounter with ‘Fire Paan.’ This comes after Rao attended the screening of her upcoming directorial “Laapataa Ladies.”
In the midst of the promotions of her upcoming film, the B-Town director was witnessed taking a sample of ‘fire paan’ at a local stall in Delhi.
Kiran Rao took to her official handle on Instagram to share a video of the incident.
She captioned the video saying, “This gentleman outside PVR Plaza in CP makes this Fire Paan thing that I was coerced into trying by Shuro. I have to say I prefer regular paan without the gimmicks, but it’s an experience and the paanwala was really sweet, so if you’re into adventure (and camphor in your paan) then go for it!”
For those who do not know, ‘fire paan’ is betel leaf stuffed with clove and which is lit on fire. It is usually the paan-makers who feed the fire paan to their customers.
In Kiran Rao’s video that has garnered enough traction on social media, we can see the filmmaker being intimated by the concept of this paan. Not the one to back out from a challenge, Rao prepares herself to try the ‘fire paan.’
Further in the video we can see a group of people taking out their phones in order to record the incident. To this, Kiran Rao can be seen saying “Now I am under pressure.” After which, she asks the vendor about how he got the idea.
To this, the vendor replies “YouTube se,” which leaves Kiran Rao chuckling. Then in the video, Kiran Rao can be seen exchanging in a conversation with the vendor. Take a look at the video of Kiran Rao trying ‘Fire Paan’ here:

Meanwhile, “Laapataa Ladies” is being co-produced by B-Town superstar Aamir Khan. The film is set to release theatrically on March 1, 2024.
