Bollywood actress Nushratt Bharuccha stuck in Israel, unable to connect with team

UPDATE: As per the latest update from Nushrratt Bharuccha’s team, they have finally managed to contact the actress with help from the Embassy. She is safe, and currently being brought back to India.

Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Pakistan militant group Hamas, Bollywood actress Nushrratt Bharuccha has been stranded in Israel. The information was confirmed by one of her teammates on Saturday.

As per reports from reliable sources, Nushratt Bharuccha had flown to Israel to be a part of the Haifa International Film festival. The source further said that the last time they managed to get in touch with her was around 12:30 pm on Saturday. Bharuccha was in a basement and safe. They denied disclosing further details due to security issues.

The source also mentioned that her team is trying to get the actress back to India, safely and unharmed.

On Saturday, a full-scale war broke out between Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Israel. This has resulted in over 400 casualties and over 2,000 injuries. Hamas fired about 5,000 rockets into Israel and captured several Israeli soldiers near the border. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement “We are at war, not an operation…” He even said that Hamas would have to pay a price for launching the attack on Israel.

India PM Narendra Modi also took to his official handle on X and wrote, “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour.”

On the work front, actress Nushratt Bharuccha was last seen in the film ‘Akeli’, which was released in August. The film depicts the story of a girl caught up in Iraq’s Civil war. The lead role portrayed by the actor struggles to return home amid the chaos.
