Karnataka Government implements 7-day home isolation for Covid-19 patients

Amid the surge in number of Covid-19 cases, the Karnataka Government has mandated a 7-day home isolation for people who test Covid positive.

Karnataka: Amid the surge in number of Covid-19 cases, the Karnataka Government has mandated a 7-day home isolation for people who test Covid positive. The decision was taken in a cabinet subcommittee meeting on Tuesday.

Under the chairmanship of Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, the decision of home isolation was taken keeping in mind the rising number of JN.1 cases in the state. Reportedly, Government guidelines regarding this matter will be released soon.

Currently, the number of JN.1 positive cases in Karnataka currently stand at 34. Further, Karnataka reported a total of 74 Covid positive cases on Tuesday.

Reports from reliable sources claim that Karnataka will be receiving a total of 30,000 doses of Covid vaccination from the Central Government. Those will be further distributed to district hospitals.

Speaking to News Agency ANI, Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the Government is well prepared to face any situation. He told ANI, “430 cases are active out of which 400 are in home isolation and the remaining are in hospital. 7-8 people are in ICU. As of now, things are okay.”

He further advised people to remain self cautious and also maintain social distancing.
