These cars from popular manufacturers are expected to launch soon in India

Are you planning to purchase a new car in the first quarter of this year? If yes, then you will be happy to know that there are some new car launches while some of the older models will receive an upgrade (or facelift). Here is a list of cars that are expected to launch in early 2022.

Hyundai Tucson

This premium SUV offered by Hyundai is expected to get an upgrade very soon. Even though the fourth generation of the Hyundai Tucson has been launched across the globe, it is yet to be launched in India. We expect the engine of the 5-seater SUV to be more powerful than its present version.

Currently, the SUV is powered by a 2-litre petrol/diesel engine. While the petrol engine gets a 6-speed AT, the diesel unit gets a new 8-speed automatic transmission option. The petrol engine produces a maximum power of 152PS and a peak torque of 192Nm. The output of the diesel engine in terms of power is 185PS and torque is 400Nm.

Kia Carens

The official booking of the upcoming Kia Carens SUV has begun in India. Interested buyers can book the SUV through online mode or offline mode at just Rs 25,000. When it comes to the engine, the Kia Carens gets an option for three variants. The petrol engine is available in two variants while the diesel engine is available in a single variant.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine is powered by a 1497cc engine that offers 115hp of power and 144Nm of peak torque and is coupled with a 6-speed Manual transmission. The 1.4-litre turbocharged unit is powered by a 1353cc engine that offers 140hp power and a torque of 242Nm. The gearbox offered on the variant is 6-speed manual transmission/ 7-speed DCT. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre diesel engine is powered by a 1493cc engine that offers 115hp of power and a torque of 250Nm. The transmission of the car is 6-speed MT/ 6-speed AT. There is also a presence of multi-drive modes (normal/eco/sport) in the SUV.

Skoda Slavia

Skoda has announced that the production of the new Skoda Slavia midsize sedan has already started in India. Prices for the new Skoda Slavia will be announced in early March this year.

Under the hood, the Skoda Slavia gets either a 1.0-litre TSI petrol or a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine. The smaller engine produces a power of 115 PS of power. The 1.0-litre engine is available with a six speed manual and a six-speed automatic gearbox options. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre four cylinder turbocharged engine will produce maximum power of 150 PS. In terms of gearbox, the 1.5-litre engine gets six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG automatic options.

Toyota Hilux

Toyota India has revealed the India specific model of Hilux pickup truck will launch in India in March 2022 and the deliveries are expected to start within a month.

The upcoming Toyota Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine that is previously seen in the Fortuner Legender. The engine churns out maximum power of 204 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. The emission standard of the pick-up truck is according to BS6 norms. The dimensions of the pick-up truck are 5325 mm in length, 1,855mm in width and 1,815mm in height. The wheelbase of the Hilux is 3085mm and this makes its longer than it’s nearest rival Isuzu D-max V-Cross.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

The new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift can be the next major thing in the Indian automotive market. The premium hatchback offered by Maruti Suzuki has been one of the company’s bestselling cars and is scheduled to get an update soon.

Users will be offered a choice of 1.2-litre VVT engine and a 1.2-litre Dualjet engine with SHVS mild-hybrid technology. The VVT engine offers maximum power of 82 bhp and peak torque of 113 Nm. Similarly, the Dualjet engine gives 89 bhp of peak power and maximum torque of 113 Nm.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza

The new Maruti Suzuki Vitara is expected to launch this year. We hope that the new Brezza will continue to legacy of the current generation of Brezza. The current generation is equipped with a powerful 1.5 litre K-series BS6 petrol engine.

The compact SUV is offered with 5-speed manual and advanced automatic transmission coupled with Smart Hybrid technology.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6

Maruti Ertiga has been a successful MUV offered by the company and is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine (105PS/138Nm), coupled with a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 4-speed torque converter. The CNG-petrol variant generates a power of 92PS and torque of 122Nm. We expect that the company will give a proper upgrade to the MUV. On the other hand the XL6, which is the premium version of the Ertiga, is also expected to get an upgrade soon.

    Indian public has no money to purchase any new car since the govt and business houses have vehemently squeezed public by different means. There is bleak future of vehicles industry in future. So all companies should be very careful in launching new vehicles.
