Stock Market update: Sensex rises over 250 pts, Nifty climbs above 21,950 today
At 10.03, the BSE Sensex was up 277.75 points or 0.39 per cent at 72,362.63 while the Nifty climbed 107.70 points or 0.49 per cent at 21,961.50.
New Delhi: The equity indices Sensex and Nifty opened in Green on Monday. In the opening session, the Sensex was up 147.75 points or 0.20 percent at 72,233.38, and the Nifty was up 67.20 points or 0.31 percent at 21,921.
At 10.03am, the BSE Sensex was up 277.75 points or 0.39 per cent at 72,362.63 while the Nifty climbed 107.70 points or 0.49 per cent at 21,961.50. About 1986 shares advanced, 1192 shares declined, and 106 shares unchanged.
Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Britannia, Eicher Motors and Cipla were among top gaining stocks on the Nifty. The UPL, SBI, ONGC, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank were among the major losers today.
