Nestle Hike Prices, Maggi, Nescafe, Red Label, and others to cost more

Nestle and Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) have recently announced an increase in prices of its products such as tea, coffee, milk and noodles.

According to reports, HUL also increased the price of Bru coffee powder by three to 7 percent on March 14. While the price of Bru gold coffee jars are increased by 3-4 percent, it’s instant coffee pouches are raised by 3 to 6.66 per cent. Similarly, the price of Taj Mahal tea has also been increased from 3.7 percent to 5.8 percent.

The prices of Brooke Bond’s all the variants have also been raised by one point 5 to 14 percent. In clarification for its recent move, HUL said that the reason behind it raising the value of its products is the rising inflation.

Apart from that, Nestle India too announced an increase of price of its products. The company has increased the prices of Maggi noodles by 9 to 16 percent. Not only its noodles, but also it has announced to increase the value of its products such as milk and coffee powder.

After the hike, the price of 70 grams of Maggi Masala noodles is now Rs 14. Earlier it was Rs 12. At the same time the price of 140 grams of Maggi Masala Noodles has increased by Rs 3 or 12.5 per cent. Similarly, the price of Maggi’s 560 gram pack has increased by 9.4 per cent, which means one has to now pay Rs 105 instead of Rs 96 for it.

The price of Nestle’s milk and milk products also observes a hike as one litre carton increases by by 4 per cent. Now the carton cost 78 instead of 75. Nescafe Classic Coffee Powder on the other hand has been increased by 3 to 7 per cent. The price of Nescafe Classic 25 gm pack increases by 2.5 per cent, i.e. from Rs 78 to Rs 80. However, the price of the 50 gram pack of Nescafe Classic increases by 3.4 per cent, which means one has to now pay Rs 150 instead of Rs 145.

The inflation has already hit the pockets of Indian consumers as edible oil and other raw materials observed a hike in price. Meanwhile, the rise in prices of more house hold products is surely a burden to everyone’s household budget.
