BSNL planning to introduce new affordable broadband plan for rural customers

BSNL's soon to be launched Rs 249 FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) plan for rural areas customers will offer 10 Mbps of speed and 10GB of data.

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is reportedly planning to introduce a new broadband plan for it’s customer in India. The state-run telecom operator aims to boost connectivity in rural areas with the launch of the upcoming broadband plan.

According to a report by IndianExpress, BSNL is soon going to launch a new affordable Rs 249 FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) plan for rural areas customers.

This information has reportedly been sourced from a Nodal Officer of the telecom operator. The new Rs 249 plan is being offered to customers from August 1.

BSNL Rs 249 Plan Benefits

The upcoming Rs 249 broadband plan of BSNL will be offered free of cost to users in the initial phase. The plan will come with 10 Mbps of speed and 10GB of data. The telcos aims to gain more customers of the fixed-line broadband service in rural India with the free service.

The customers will also have to pay 18% GST upon the final billing for the plan. The plan is also available for customers in urban cities with a cost of Rs 299 plus 18% GST.

BSNL also has a Rs 329 + 18% GST plan with 20 Mbps of speed and 1TB of data. However, it is available in only selected cities.
