Tata Motors has released a teaser of the upcoming Nexon.ev facelift, which is scheduled to be launched on September 7. The teaser shows the electric version of the Nexon with the Tata’s new .ev moniker for electric vehicle division.

The upcoming iteration of the nexon EV seems to have received some design changes unlike the current model which looks identical to the ICE version except for the electric blue accents and EV badging.

The teaser shows the facelifted Nexon EV’s front and rear side. The Tata Nexon EV facelift features a full-width LED light bar like the Curvv concept and the upper portion of the nose has a single-tone body-coloured finish instead of a black finish. The rest of the design seems to be inspired by the concept.

The Nexon.ev sports the .ev branding on the rear. Tata is expected to offer a unique design for the alloy wheels of the upcoming EV.

These are likely to be further split into four core trims – Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless. These trims will further categorised with optional packages with a ‘+’ suffix.

As per reports, the Nexon.ev will have the same equipment as the ICE versions of the compact SUV. The Nexon.ev MR will continue to be offered with the 30.2kWh battery, which will offer an ARAI-claimed range of 312km. Meanwhile, the LR variant will come with a 40.5kWh battery that offers a range of 453km (MIDC). The LR variant is also expected to have two charging options – a 3.3kW or a 7.2kW AC charger.

The Nexon.ev will be powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The engine will produce outputs of 129hp and 245Nm of torque in the MR version, while the same engine in LR will  make 143hp and 250Nm.
