Mercedes-Benz launches facelift GLS in India, priced at Rs 1.32 crore

German Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has launched its first car in India for the year 2024 and it is none other than Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift. The facelifted GLS is available in two variants-petrol (GLS 450) and diesel (GLS 450d). While the petrol variant costs Rs 1.32 crore the diesel variant costs Rs 1.37 crore.

What does the new Mercedes Benz GLS facelift offer?

Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift offers a refreshed front grill that includes four horizontal chrome strips. The earlier model offered two strips. We also get new daytime running lamp (DRL), front bumper and a block pattern signature on rear tail-lights. The SUV is available in multiple colour variants and that include Obsidian Black, Selenite Grey, High-tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, and Polar White.

When it comes to the interior of the SUV, we get multiple colour options for upholstery, new steering wheel, haptic feedback buttons and much more. Important features include ADAS functions, 360-degree camera and latest MBUX system.

Luxury features in the Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift include cooled and heated seats, wireless charging, electric sunbinds, two 11.6-inch entertainment screens.

Engine options

The Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift is offered in two powertrains. The petrol engine is a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder and generates 381hp and 500Nm. On the other hand, the diesel engine is a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder and generates 367hp and 700Nm. Both variants get mild-hybrid system that offers 20hp of additional power and 200Nm of torque. The GLS uses a 9-speed automatic gearbox while the water-wading capacity is 500 mm.

Rivals

The Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift competes with the likes of BMW X7 (Rs 1.27 crore) and Volvo XC90 (Rs 98.85 lakh).
