Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its fourth-gen Swift and Dzire along its first electric vehicle, the eVX in India. Meanwhile, the company is planning to launch the Suzuki Spacia-based compact MPV by 2026.

However, reports have claimed that the Indian Spacia-based MPV will look different than the model sold in Japan. The India-spec model will be stretched and it will be a sub-four-metre model. Meanwhile, the Indian model may lack the sliding doors as cost targets may not allow this feature.

The YDB MPV’s interior is expected to carry significant changes, especially considering the increase in size and the fact that the Japanese version has two rows of seats. A three-row cabin in a compact footprint along with a decent features are to be employed in the vehicle.

The YDB will be kept under the Ertiga and XL6 in Maruti Suzuki’s line-up. This vehicle will be retailed from the company’s premium Nexa showrooms. The Spacia is likely to get the 1.2-litre Z Series petrol engine that will debut on the upcoming Swift. Meanwhile, the vehicle will employ manual and automatic gearbox options.
