Honda working on Elevate Electric SUV: To rival Hyundai Creta EV

Honda Motor Company is working on the electric version of the Elevate SUV. It will rival Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX.

Honda Motor Company is working on the electric version of the Elevate SUV. The company has announced that the Elevate EV will be coming to the market soon.

The company has codenamed the upcoming Honda Elevate electric SUV model ‘DG9D’. The company is planning to manufacture 1 lakh units of the DG9D annually. It will be introduced as an flagship model with potential to rival Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti Suzuki eVX, Tata Harrier EV, and Citroen C3 Aircross, and others. The Elevate-based EV SUV will likely make its debut in 2-3 years.

Apart from this, there is no additional information about the EV. The company has also not revealed any details about its powertrain options.

Meanwhile, Honda India is working on an ACE (Asian Compact Electric) project and is aiming to make it operational by 2026.

Honda has revealed that around 50-70 percent of the EVs produced in India. The company is planning to produce the Elevate-based EV variant in India and will export it to global market from the country even to Japan.

Moreover, Honda is focusing on launching around 5 new SUVs in the coming years in India. Honda Motor Cars’ CEO said that the company will only be launching SUVs in the Indian market and no new sedans will be offered.

The ICE version of the Honda Elevate currently retails in a range of Rs 11 lakhs – Rs 16.1 lakhs (ex-showroom).
