Odisha: Leopard skin smuggling racket busted, 7 held

Sambalpur: Special Task Force of Crime Branch on Friday busted a racket involved in trading of leopard skins in Kuchinda area of Odisha’s Sambalpur district.

As many as seven persons were arrested in this connection. Police also seized skins of  four leopards from their possession.

The arrested persons have been identified  as Sanjay Bagh, Sunil Kallu, Dusraj Patel, Kailash Majhi, Jhulaketan Naik ( all from Laikara in Jharsuguda district), Minaketan Mundu and Kumad Bara (both from Mahulpulli in Sambalpur district).

A case has been registered against the seven accused under the Wildlife Protection Act.
