Six terrorists killed in Pulwama encounter

Pulwama: At least six militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning, reported The Indian Express.
The deceased were affiliated to former top Hizbul Mujahideen commander and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind head Zakir Musa, Awantipora Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammed Zahid confirmed to The Indian Express.
Kashmir Police had tweeted earlier confirming the encounter. Fires were exchanged when the police were conducting a regular search operation. They had received input regarding the possible presence of militants in the area. Upon confirmation, they started firing to which the terrorists retaliated.

In another tweet, the Kashmir Police updated that at least six terrorists were killed. They also confirmed that there was no collateral damage and arms and ammunition were recovered.
Also, a probe is underway to ascertain the identity of killed terrorists.

Last week, seven civilians were killed when security forces opened fire on protesters after an encounter in which three militants and an Armyman were killed at Sirnoo village.
