Bhubaneswar: All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday appointed former minister Ganeswar Behera as the chairman of the party’s poll manifesto committee in Odisha, a party statement said.
Behera, vice-president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), replaced former Union Minister Srikant Jena for the crucial post ahead of the 2019 Assembly elections.
Bismaya Mahapatra has been appointed as the convenor of the 10-member manifesto committee.
Other members of the committee include Leader of Opposition (LoP) Narasingha Mishra, party senior leader Prasad Harichandan, Sudarsan Das, Shyam Sundar Hansda, Meri Surin, Natabara Khuntia, Liaqat Ali and Satya Prakash Nayak.
OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik took Twitter route to congratulate the new members of the committee.
