Jajpur: In a tragic incident, a minor boy met watery grave in the pond of his village in Jajpur distric of Odisha today. The incident took place in Shyamsunderpur village in Angira panchayat under Jenapur police limits.
The deceased minor boy has been identified as 7 year old Om Prakash, son of Subhash Chandra Pal of Shyamsunderpur village.
As per reports, the minor boy returned from school today and went to the village pond to take bath along with his friends. While they were taking bath somehow Om drowned.
After knowing about it the locals fished out Om from the water and rushed him to Balisahi Primary Health Center and later to Dharamsala Group Health Center. However the doctors there pronounced him dead.
A case of unnatural death has been filed at Jenapur Police Station and further investigation of the case is underway.
A pall of gloom has descended the area following the sad demise of the minor boy.
