Odisha Reports 14 Covid Positives In Last 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday reported only 14 new Covid cases including three in the 0-18 years age group.

This was informed by the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department. The positive tally stands at 12,87,874.

Reportedly, among the 14 positives, eight patients are in quarantine, and six are local contacts. The active cases in Odisha currently stand at 130.

1. Balasore: 2
2. Balangir: 3
3. Deogarh: 1
4. Gajapati: 1
5. Kendrapada: 2
6. Sonepur: 1
7. Sundargarh: 4

Odisha has noted 21 new recoveries.

Notably, the Covid booster dose has been made available for all adults above the age of 18 at private vaccination centres from April 10.

All those who are more than 18 years of age and have completed 9 months after the administration of the second dose, are eligible for the booster dose.

Both the major manufacturers of Covid vaccines announced large cuts in the price a day before the booster dose is rolled out.

Serum Institute of India’s (SII) Covishield, and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin will be available for Rs 225 per dose, down from Rs 600 and Rs 1,200 respectively. The private vaccination centres can charge up to Rs 150 per dose as a service charge over and above the cost of the vaccine.
