The veteran singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri passed took his last breath at a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday. He was 69.
Fondly known as Bappi da, the singer-composer was among the biggest names in India’s music industry. His last Bollywood song was Baaghi 3’s title track Bhankas. Bappi Lahiri also gave hit songs in Chalte Chalte, Disco Dancer and Sharaabi, among many others.
Bappi Lahiri’s demise shocked the nation, with condolences pouring in for the veteran singer-composer.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences on Bappi Lahiri’s death on Twitter and said his lively nature will be missed by everyone.

Home minister Amit Shah also offered condolences on Bappi Lahiri’s death on his twitter account, “Pained to learn about the passing away of legendary singer and composer, Bappi Lahiri Ji.
