Honda CB150X: An adventure tourer for the beginners who love travelling

Two wheeler manufacturer Honda has launched the new CB150X adventure motorcycle, meant for entry level riders. The new CB150X was launched at the on-going Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). In terms of hierarchy the CB150X is positioned below the CB200X, which is available in the Indian market.

The CB150X is not a proper adventure motorcycle or a tourer. It is just an adventurer tourer which can aid you in city commuting and give you an edge during a long journey (including soft off-roading).

Engine and Design

A 149 cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine is present in the CB150X.  It generates maximum power of 16.5bhp@9,000 rpm while the peak torque of the bike is 13.8 Nm@7,000 rpm. The engine is coupled with a 6-speed gearbox for a better ride experiences.

In terms of design, the Honda CB150X gets a styling that is present in the CB200X. It gets a front long front beak, tall windscreen, centre-set footpegs, wide handlebar and a single-piece seat. A sturdy bash plate is also present at the bottom of the engine to prevent damage. The fuel tank found in the new CB150X is more muscular than that of the CB200X. It will not be odd to say that this younger sibling of the CB200X looks sharper than its older sibling.

A full digital instrument panel is also present in the Honda CB150X and provides all the necessary information clearly.

Important features

The CB150X gets a seat height of 805 mm which is quite less than CB200X that is 817 mm. The overall ground clearance stands at 181 mm. The adventure bike gets a 17-inch alloy wheels and 37mm upside down forks at the front. The rear suspension of the bike is 150mm monoshock. In terms of braking the bike gets single disk along with ABS.

Price

The Honda CB150X is offered at a starting price of RP 32 million (approximately Rs 1.67 lakh) for the base variant in Indonesia. However, we are quite unsure, whether Honda will launch this bike in the Indian market.
