Malkangiri: Police seized 5 kg of ganja and arrested one person from Khairput area under Mudulipada police limits in the district, yesterday night.
Getting a tip-off on the ganja consignment which was being transported by a Pick-Up van, a team of Mudulipada police while patrolling intercepted the vehicle near Khairput village, late in the night. During the raid cops found ganja sacks hidden inside vegetable loads in the vehicle and seized them.
The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for interrogation.
Informing on the seizure, Mudulipada Police Station IIC Jugal Kishore Sabar said the seized ganja would worth around Rs 20 lakh.
The drug was being sent to Umerkote in neighbouring Nabarangpur district, he added.
