Kakamigahara: Odia girl Deep Grace Ekka scored two goals as Indian Women’s Hockey Team registered semi-finals berth beating Kazakhstan 7-1 in the Quarter Final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2017 at Kakamigahara Kawasaki Stadium in Japan today.
Deep Grace’ two goals came at 16th and 41st minute of the match. Besides her, Dragflicker Gurjit Kaur pumped three goals while Navneet Kaur scored twice in the match.
Earlier Indian women beat Singapore 10-0, China 4-1 and Malaysia 2-0 to top their pool A.
India have won the continental title only once in 2004, and finished runners-up on two occasions.
