Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi to visit Odisha on Sep 26

Bhubaneswar: Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi will visit Odisha on September 26 to participate in a padayatra which will be organized to create awareness on child sexual abuse and trafficking.

Around 500 children, along with more than 10,000 people, are slated to take part in the padayatra which will be held from Gandhi Park to Kalinga Stadium. Satyarthi is also scheduled to address the gathering.

This awareness programme will be part of the Bharat Yatra launched by the Nobel laureate from Kanyakumari to Delhi to spread awareness about child abuse and trafficking on September 11.

“Nobel peace prize winner Kailash Satyarthi will arrive here on September 26.  He will take part in the awareness programme at 3.30 PM and will address participants at Kalinga Stadium. He will also address the general people in Cuttack later the same evening. He will then visit Sambalpur on 27th to attend a similar awareness programme,” said Odisha Nagarika Committee member Subhasree Das.
