Gunupur: A fourth year engineering student of Gandhi Institute for Education & Technology (GIET) in Gunupur, Rayagada district committed suicide by hanging himself in a private hostel of Tulasi Nagar on Wednesday.
The deceased student has been identified as Niraj Mishra of Civil engineering department. He belongs to Bihar.
Though the exact reason behind the death of Mishra is yet to be known, local police, who rushed to the spot after getting information, have started an investigation into the matter.
Sources said that the body will be sent for the postmortem after the arrival of his parents.
