Strong Solar storm to hit earth tomorrow, knocks out radio frequencies

Solar flare can cause coronal mass ejections (CME) on December 15 and 16 and they it may intensify to moderate G2 and G3 storm and likely to hit Earth tomorrow

Washington: The Sun has emitted a strong solar flare severely affecting radio communications on the Earth, The NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center has also issued a geomagnetic storm warning at the massive solar event.

The solar fare is considered to be the biggest of the solar cycle since the V8.2 flare was observed on September, 2017.

As the flare exploded, it released a wave of solar radiation that quickly striked Earth and disrupted our earth’s magnetosphere. The radiation created a massive radio blackout in the most part of Americas. The blackout lasted for around two hours and “is likely one of the largest solar radio events ever recorded,” according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA).

Solar flare can cause coronal mass ejections (CME) on December 15 and 16 and they it may intensify to moderate G2 and G3 storm and likely to hit Earth tomorrow (Dec 17).

Solar flares become more frequent and powerful as the sun approaches solar maximum.

According to scientists, more such solar storms are expected because the Sun is gearing up to a peak of activity, which happens about every 11 years.
