One of world’s largest bell ‘Vox Patris’ unveiled in Poland
Warsaw, Poland: A classic piece of art and one of the largest swinging bells in the world the ‘Vox Patris’ was unveiled in Poland yesterday.
The bell was unveiled at the Polish city of Krakow for public view ahead of its installation at a major Catholic church and sanctuary located in the city of Trinade in Brazil.
The bell which is four metres (13 feet) in height and 4.5 metres in diameter is made from copper and tin. It will be activated by four engines and will be part of a tower 100 metres high at the Basilica of the Eternal Father in the city of Trindade in central Brazil soon, informed its owner Piotr Olszewski to media.
The bell went through a preparatory and test period of around four years. While the first casting of it at the Metalodlew foundry in Krakow turned out to be a failure the second attempt was successful, added Olszewski.
The bell will be transported to Brazil in a boat. The journey will take roughly a year to complete.
