Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios has been crowned Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador on Saturday.
For the first time ever, a contestant from Nicaragua has won the contest, with Thailand’s Anntonia Porsild and Australia’s Moraya Wilson.
Palacios, 23, received the crown and sash from her predecessor, R’Bonney Gabriel from the United States.
The 72nd Miss Universe pageant was hosted in El Salvador, with contestants from over 90 nations looking to win the coveted crown.
Shweta Sharda, 23, secured her spot in the Miss Universe 2023 semifinals on Sunday, after clinching the Miss Diva Universe 2023 title in August this year.
Shweta hails from Chandigarh. She relocated to Mumbai to chase her dreams. She has been featured in several dance shows including ‘DID’, ‘Dance Deewane’ and ‘ Jhalak Dikhlaja’.
