Apple is in the news for developing its own search engine named ‘Pegasus’, it is expected to be a strong competitor to the popular search engine Google.
Apple has been planning to develop its own search engine for years together, say reports. The Cupertino-based company Apple Inc. is reportedly working on a next-generation search engine code-named “Pegasus”.
This search engine will be designed to be more accurate and relevant than all the present search engines. Tech experts believe that it will be a direct competitor to the world’s largest and most popular search engine Google.
There are a few inevitable reasons for Apple to start its own search engine, a few of them are:
Firstly the Apple search engine ‘Pegasus’ will have more control over the user experience and the types of results that are obtained by the user.
Secondly, it will allow Apple to collect more data about the users search habits, which could be used to improve other products and services.
Thirdly, and one of the most important reasons is that it will reduce Apple’s reliance on Google, which is one of its major competitors.
However Apple is definitely entering into tough terrain. Google has been dominating the search engine market share for decades. It is to be seen whether Apple would be able to compete with Google, even if it develops a superior search engine.
Apple however is yet to confirm the launch its own search engine. But experts believe that Apple is indeed developing its own search engine which might dominate the search world someday soon.
