Boudh: A youth was killed and another turned critical after a trailer truck mowed down their bike at Bridge Chhak near Boudh town today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Pradhan of Tutusingha village of the same district.
As per the report, Mahesh was en-route to Sonepur this morning in some work along with his friend identified as Bimal Pradhan when the crash took place. The driver of a trailer truck which was travelling in the opposite direction drove extremely right on the road and ended up mowing down Mahesh’s motorcycle.
The victim duo was rushed to Boudh hospital for treatment by some locals who rescued them from the bike which remained stuck under the wheels of the truck.
While Mahesh succumbed under treatment his friend struggles for life at the hospital.
Police have seized the truck involved in the crash and are trying to trace the absconding driver.
