Youth killed, another critical as bike hits road median in Sundergarh

Sundergarh: A youth was killed and another sustained critical injuries after the bike they were travelling on hit a road median in Udit Nagar area in Rourkela last night.

The deceased has been identified as Sumit Kumar Mohanty of Basanti Colony of the same locality.

As per the report, Sumit was en-route to a nearby village late last night along with his friend when lost control over the wheels on Basanti flyover and ended up hitting a median. While Sumit was killed after falling off the bike his friend who was riding pillion sustained grievous injuries.

Police rushed to the spot later and sent the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The mangled bike has been seized and the deceased sent for autopsy.
