Kotgarh: A youth sustained critical injury after being attacked by a sharp weapon by a drunken man while rescuing another person. The incident took place in Slokamaha village under Subarnagiri panchayat under Kotgarh police limits of Kandhamal district of Odisha.
As per reports, one Musinga Patamajhi of Radha village had trespassed into the house of Jias Pradhan of Slokamaha village. He was drunk and had brought a crowbar with him in an intention to murder Jias Pradhan.
After hearing the noise Amar Patamajhi rushed to the spot as Jias was shouting for help. When Amar tried to save him, Musinga attacked him with the crowbar as a result of which he sustained severe head injury.
In the meanwhile the villagers reached the spot and rescued Amar from Musinga. They tied the attacker with a rope and later handed him over to the Police.
Critically injured Amar Patmahi was rushed to Kotgarh PHC. However, as his condition deteriorated he then was shifted to Baliguda hospital and again to the district head quarter hospital in Phulbani.
