Woman Tehsildar Beaten Up During Raid At ‘Ekadashi Bhoji’ In Odisha

Balasore: A woman Tehsildar was reportedly beaten up by some locals while conducting a raid at ‘ekadashi bhoji’ (rituals organized on the 11th day of a deceased person) at Hinjili village in Balasore district.  

One Hiramani Raut of the village died due to Covid-19 last month. His family members had organized the eleventh-day rituals and prepared food for around 500 people of the area despite the restriction of the State government imposed to contain Coronavirus.

However, the local Tehsildar Anamika Singh conducted a raid after getting information about the incident. Unfortunately, some locals allegedly abused her and attacked her with sticks.

Meanwhile, the local police has started an investigation into the matter.
