Mayurbhanj: In an interesting incident, a snake-charming performance was arranged during a marriage procession at Karanjia town in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
Reportedly, a poisonous snake was spotted performing to the tune of the charmer on the streets.
The snake charmer was trying to entertain the baraatis in the marriage procession by hypnotizing the snake to the tunes of pungi.
A video of the same went viral and the Karanjia Forest Department was informed. On getting the information, the officials arrived at the spot and detained the snake charmer along with five others.
Karanjia DFO Srikant Naik has stated that the snake charming performances are not allowed anywhere across the State. “The baraatis were doing the illegal activities during the marriage procession, hence strict action will be taken against them,” he added.
