VP Venkaiah Naidu to inaugurate an LPG bottling plant in Balangir today

Balangir: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu is scheduled to inaugurate an LPG bottling plant of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Barkani village in Odisha’s Balangir district today. He will also attend the platinum jubilee function of Rajendra College here in the afternoon.

The bottling plant has been established at an expenditure of 103 crore rupees and has capacity of manufacturing 42 lakh cylinders annually. The bottling plant will benefit residents of 14 western Odisha districts, official sources said.

The State will soon have seven LPG bottling plants with two more plants coming up at Bhubaneswar and Rayagada. While the current bottling capacity of the existing four plants is 2 crore 80 lakh cylinders per annum, the bottling capacity will increase to 4 crore 6 lakh cylinders annually once all seven plants start production.

Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will also attend the BPCL function.

The Vice President is also scheduled to attend the platinum jubilee function of Rajendra College here after dedicating the gas bottling plant to the nation.
